What is honeycomb composite panel?

author:

Honeycomb composite plate is composed of two panels and a honeycomb interlayer filled in them to ensure that the two panels work together. Different materials can be selected for the surface plate: when both surface plates are aluminum plates or steel plates, they are called aluminum honeycomb plates or steel honeycomb plates. When one of the surface plates is stone, titanium alloy plate, enamel plate, wood, glass fiber reinforced plastic, it is called stone honeycomb plate, titanium alloy honeycomb plate, enamel honeycomb plate, wood honeycomb plate, glass fiber reinforced plastic honeycomb plate, etc. When aluminum foil, paper foil and plastic are used in the middle honeycomb layer, they are called aluminum honeycomb, paper honeycomb and plastic honeycomb respectively.
The design idea of honeycomb composite plate structure comes from I-beam structure: the surface plate is equivalent to the wing plate of I-beam, which mainly bears the normal stress; The middle honeycomb layer is equivalent to the web of the I-beam and mainly bears the shear stress. The structural strength of the two surface plates is large, and the section inertia moment is large, so the rigidity is good and the bending strength is large; The middle sandwich layer imitates the natural honeycomb structure and uses few materials, but has high shear strength and good stability; The optimized combination of the surface plate and the honeycomb interlayer makes the honeycomb plate have the advantages of light weight, high strength, good stiffness, etc. Proper selection of surface plate and honeycomb can also obtain good seismic, heat insulation, sound insulation and other performance, and can be made into fireproof honeycomb plate, heat insulation honeycomb plate, sound insulation honeycomb plate, etc.
Due to the above advantages of honeycomb composite panels, aluminum honeycomb panels were first used in aviation and aerospace sectors, and then widely used in automobile, train, ship, light rail, subway, elevator and other industrial sectors in decoration, curtain wall, roof, floor and other construction fields.
